Pompeyo Diaz earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Ateneo de Manila. He obtained his law degree in the University of the Philippines College of Law received his Master of Laws degree in 1930 at the University of Santo Tomas. He was a professor of law in the University of Manila, Philippine Law School, San Beda College, University of Santo Tomas and Ateneo de Manila. He taught subjects such as Public International Law, Wills and Succession, Evidence, Persons and Family Relations, and Obligations and Contracts. He was appointed as Ateneo Law Dean from 1967 to 1974.

 

His career in government service includes the following: Assistant Atty. Of the Bureau of Justice; Acting Provincial Fiscal of Batangas; Judge of Court of First Instance of Manila; Judge of the People’s Court; Counsel of CBP; and Acting Commissioner of Immigration. He was a member of the Government Corporate Counsel and the Integrity Board. He was also appointed as the Solicitor General from 1950 to 1952. He later served as Court of Appeals Justice. He was an Incorporator and Board Member of Philippine Prudential Life Insurance Company.
